Mission

To be a sustainable community for progressive, autonomous, human-scale education that nurtures and develops students inclusively; co-creating personalised learning that inspires a life of wonder and success.

Vision

Our vision is to fulfil our mission by creating enhanced education, learning and support, on a part-time basis, for home-educated students and their families, particularly those with neurodivergences or school anxiety. This alternative and flexible provision will be a professionally facilitated consent-based learning environment, known as the pod.  To meet the needs of those students we will offer an alternative style of education centred around our values and guiding principles.

There are steps and stages to our growth to this position.

Stage 1: Branch pod

We opened the Branch pod in September 2023 catering to 11-17 year olds. We are now nearly full.

Stage 2: Twig pod

The Twig pod (for 8 to 12 year olds) will open in September 2024 due to interest from the community. We are open for applications for spaces now.By September 2024, in line with interest from the community, we hope to offer spaces to students aged 8 to 10 years.

Branch pod will cater for 12-17 years from this time.

We will be located at our permanent site at Heather Hill near Beaulieu (New Forest).

Stage 3: Sprout pod

We hope that the Sprout pod will open in April 2025, offering spaces for students aged 5-7 years.

Stage 4: Expansion and Hawthorn Small School

At some stage from September 2025 we will be in a position to open Hawthorn Small School.
