Maz Wilberforce
Educational leader
Hi I’m Maz. I have been teaching in schools and other education settings for over 20 years. I firmly believe that a child-centred education, with the interests needs and strengths of each individual at it’s core, represents the most powerful way to facilitate learning and enable each student to thrive and achieve their ambitions.
I firmly believe that education should involve strong partnerships with parents and families and should have kindness at its core. I am dedicated to fostering and creating a nurturing learning environment in which students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally, enabling them to thrive and make a positive impact on the world.

More about Maz
Live Role Play
I really enjoy having fun and facilitating other people's fun at Lrp events, for this reason I spend many weekends crewing and playing in various national systems. It's a great escape and lots of fun to fight with and against friends, making mischief and stories in various worlds!
Playing Music
Coming from a traditional folk background I very much enjoy playing English and French folk. My favourite instruments to play are the melodeon, tenor and descant recorders and the hurdy gurdy.
Whilst I am proficient at the melodeon and recorders, I have only been playing the gurdy for a short while and can mostly make noises not dissimilar to an angry cat.
Dinghy Cruising
Dinghy cruising is a really mindful way to relax. I really enjoy spending the occasional evening or weekend on board my little boat 'Bimble' gunkholing and exploring the coast from Southampton to Poole.
For day cruises I am often joined by one of my children, but not both at once as Bimble is only 8ft long!
